Grant Application

Unique schools, unique needs

Wingspan Partnerships is particularly interested in receiving submissions from two or more schools that are already–-or will soon be–-engaged in collaborative planning, since early collaboration normally produces more focused, creative and sustainable results. Recognizing that in some cases a school committed to developing a comprehensive public purpose initiative may not yet have identified its partner institutions, Wingspan will entertain a grant request from such a school.

Applicants are encouraged to briefly cover the following areas in their submission:

  • Name and contact information of the school(s) and other involved institutions
  • Description of the applying institution and of others involved
  • IRS number and/or documentation for the institution administering the funds
  • Outline of the initiative
  • Intended benefits of the initiative to participants and the community
  • Intended use of the funds granted
  • Relationship of the initiative to the strategic direction of the institution(s) involved
  • Measures of success
  • Other supportive material (i.e.,prior public-purpose successes, relevant academic or service-learning programs, etc.)

Wingspan's grant application process is straightforward and may help applicants develop a coherent purpose, strategy and structure for their initiative, unite the various stakeholders, and engage prospective supporters or funders.
